Ahrefs Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2026: Is There a Deal?
Every November the same search climbs: does Ahrefs do a Black Friday or Cyber Monday deal this year? In 2026 Black Friday falls on 27 November and Cyber Monday on 30 November, so this page goes up early, before the deal roundups start filling search results with "up to 50% off" banners.
We went to the sources Ahrefs controls, its pricing page and its help center, read them in October 2026, then pulled archived copies of the pricing page from the Black Friday weeks of 2023, 2024 and 2025 to see whether anything changed when the holiday arrived. Every Ahrefs price and policy below names where it came from and when we checked it. Where we couldn't find a source, we say that and leave the number out.
The short answer for 2026
- No Black Friday or Cyber Monday deal has been announced. As of our October 2026 check, Ahrefs' help center says it "does not run one-off discounts or seasonal specials (this includes Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday etc.)", and the FAQ on ahrefs.com/pricing still says "We never run discounts."
- The one standing saving is annual billing. Ahrefs' pricing page (checked October 2026) advertises "Pay annually, save up to 17%", which works out to twelve months for the price of ten, and that offer is there all year rather than only in November.
- Beyond that, you can buy a smaller plan, use the free account or pay for shared access. Starter is $29/mo and Ahrefs Free costs nothing (both on ahrefs.com, checked October 2026), and GroupbuySEO sells shared Ahrefs access for $25/month standalone.
If you only wanted the yes-or-no, that's it. Below is the evidence, the arithmetic on annual billing, and a checklist for the holiday week.
What Ahrefs itself says about holiday sales
Ahrefs is unusually direct about this and has put its position in writing in two places.
The help center article
The help center page titled "Do you offer any discounts or free trials?" (help.ahrefs.com, dated 3 September 2026, checked October 2026) opens with this line: "Ahrefs does not run one-off discounts or seasonal specials (this includes Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday etc.)". The same article says Ahrefs does not offer "any promotional or discount codes", and that codes found on other websites "are not legitimate, and should not be trusted."
It names Black Friday and Cyber Monday outright, which is about as clear as a vendor gets. The same page says there are no discounts for non-profits and no free trials, and it points people who want something cheaper than Lite toward the Starter plan.
The pricing page FAQ
The FAQ at the bottom of ahrefs.com/pricing (checked October 2026) answers "Do you offer discounts or free trials?" with "We never run discounts. But if you're a website owner, you can sign up for Ahrefs Free to get free limited access to Site Explorer & Site Audit."
A Black Friday sale would contradict both pages. Ahrefs could change its policy in 2026, of course, but a change like that would appear on ahrefs.com first, long before any coupon site could honestly report it.
What Ahrefs did in 2023, 2024 and 2025
A policy page only tells you what a company says. We wanted to see what happened on the actual days, so we pulled copies of ahrefs.com/pricing that the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine captured during each of the last three holiday weeks:
| Year | Black Friday / Cyber Monday | Archived capture we read | What the page showed |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 24 Nov / 27 Nov | 24 November 2023 | No sale or holiday wording; FAQ read "We never run discounts" |
| 2024 | 29 Nov / 2 Dec | 29 November 2024 | No sale or holiday wording; same FAQ answer |
| 2025 | 28 Nov / 1 Dec | 29 November and 1 December 2025 | Regular prices ($129 Lite, $249 Standard, $449 Advanced), "Pay annually, save up to 17%", same FAQ answer |
We searched each archived page's full HTML for "Black Friday", "Cyber Monday" and "holiday sale" and got zero hits in all four captures. Archived copies of the help center article from May 2023, November 2024 and December 2025 carry the same "does not run one-off discounts or seasonal specials" sentence word for word.
An archive capture is a snapshot of the HTML, so a banner added by a script after the page loads could in theory be missing from it. We also searched for an Ahrefs announcement, blog post or help article describing a holiday offer in any of those years and found none. With three years of captures and a written policy pointing the same way, we're confident Ahrefs ran no Black Friday sale in that period.
So should you wait for November?
For Ahrefs, no. Nothing in the record suggests the price drops in late November, and waiting costs you whatever the tool would have earned you in the meantime. If you were going to buy anyway, the decision that matters is monthly against annual, and that choice is the same on 14 October as on 27 November.
Ahrefs prices as of October 2026
These are the US-dollar prices from ahrefs.com/pricing, checked October 2026. We read them from the Internet Archive's capture of 13 October 2026, because Ahrefs prices by visitor location and our own fetch from Europe on 14 October came back in euros (Lite at €119/mo, Advanced at €419/mo). Your page may show a different currency. The annual figures come from the plan data embedded in the same page.
| Plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing (per year) | Main limits listed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ahrefs Free | $0 | n/a | Limited Site Explorer and Site Audit for sites you verify |
| Starter | $29/mo | Monthly only | Credit-based, light use |
| Lite | $129/mo | $1,290 | 5 projects, 750 tracked keywords, 6 months of history, 1,000 credits per user |
| Standard | $249/mo | $2,490 | 20 projects, 2,000 tracked keywords, 2 years of history, unlimited credits |
| Advanced | $449/mo | $4,490 | 50 projects, 5,000 tracked keywords, 5 years of history, unlimited credits |
| Enterprise | $1,499/mo | Annual commitment required | Uncapped API access, SSO, unlimited history |
Each paid plan includes one user. On the same page (checked October 2026), extra seats cost $40/mo on Lite, $60/mo on Standard, $80/mo on Advanced and $100/mo on Enterprise, and Lite allows up to two extra users. At those October 2026 prices, a team of three on Lite pays $209 a month before any add-ons, not $129.
Add-ons sit on top of that. The pricing page lists Brand Radar AI, custom AI prompt packages and Report Builder as separate purchases. None of them changes the core question here, but if you're budgeting for a year, read the add-on section before you commit, because the plan price is the floor.
Annual billing: the only discount Ahrefs actually offers
Ahrefs' pricing page (checked October 2026) has a "Pay annually" switch labelled "save up to 17%". The plan data behind it is simple: every annual price is exactly ten times the monthly price. Lite is $1,290 a year against $1,548 for twelve monthly payments, a saving of $258. Standard saves $498 ($2,490 against $2,988) and Advanced saves $898 ($4,490 against $5,388), all from ahrefs.com/pricing, checked October 2026.
Ten months' price for twelve months of service comes to 16.7% off, which Ahrefs rounds to "up to 17%". The help center article says "almost 20% off all annual billing" (checked October 2026). The pricing page has the more precise number, so plan on 16.7%.
How to switch
The pricing page's "Pay annually" switch covers new sign-ups. If you already pay monthly, both Ahrefs pages (checked October 2026) say the same thing: contact support to move to annual billing, and the help center lists email and live chat as the ways to do it.
When annual is the right call, and when it isn't
Annual billing is a good deal if you're certain you'll use Ahrefs for the next twelve months, for example an agency with steady client work or an in-house team with a fixed tool budget. It's a poor deal if your need is seasonal or project-based. Pay for twelve months and use four, and your effective monthly cost is three times the monthly price. The break-even is roughly ten months of real use.
Because annual pricing is available all year, buying it on Black Friday saves nothing over buying it on any other day. If you've decided on annual, buy when you need the tool.
Starter and Lite: paying for less
The other legitimate way to spend less is to buy a smaller plan. Ahrefs offers two below Standard, and they're further apart than their names suggest.
Starter at $29 a month
Ahrefs introduced Starter in a product post on its blog dated 2 September 2024, and it's still listed at $29/mo on ahrefs.com/pricing (checked October 2026). That post describes a credit-based plan with 200 credits a month, giving access to Site Explorer, Keywords Explorer, Site Audit, Rank Tracker, the SEO toolbar and a few other tools. Its terms say the plan renews monthly only, can't take extra users or add-ons, and isn't available as a downgrade from Lite or higher.
Two hundred credits go quickly. Credits are spent when you open reports and request new data, so a few competitor reviews and a keyword research session can use a month's allowance in one afternoon. Starter suits someone who wants to look up a handful of things a month. It isn't built for weekly client reporting.
Lite at $129 a month
Lite is where Ahrefs starts behaving like a working SEO tool: 5 projects, 750 tracked keywords, six months of history and 1,000 credits per user, per ahrefs.com/pricing, checked October 2026. Six months of history is the limit people notice first. You can't look back at a competitor's backlink growth over the last two years on Lite, and that's often exactly the question you opened Ahrefs to answer.
If your workload fits inside Lite, buying Lite annually is the cheapest way to own an Ahrefs subscription in your own name: $1,290 a year (ahrefs.com/pricing, checked October 2026).
Ahrefs Free, the account formerly called Webmaster Tools
If the site you care about is your own, start with the free account. Ahrefs renamed Ahrefs Webmaster Tools to Ahrefs Free; its own FAQ on ahrefs.com/free (checked October 2026) says "They're the same account." It needs no credit card and has no expiry.
What it gives you, per the same page (checked October 2026): Site Explorer and Site Audit for websites you verify, with up to 1,000 backlinks and keywords visible at once and 5,000 Site Audit crawl credits a month per project, plus Web Analytics and the SEO toolbar. The catch is verification. You can audit and research your own site in depth. You can't point it at a competitor's domain and get the full report, which is the main reason most people pay for Ahrefs.
For a site owner the free account covers a lot: technical health, which pages earn links, which keywords you rank for. If that's your actual job, you may not need a paid plan at all, Black Friday or not. Our guide to Ahrefs' free options in 2026 walks through the limits in more detail.
Shared Ahrefs access through GroupbuySEO
The fourth route is the one we sell, so read this section knowing that. GroupbuySEO gives you access to a paid Ahrefs account that we manage and share among subscribers under fair-use limits. You don't get your own Ahrefs subscription.
Ahrefs costs $25/month standalone through us. It's also part of two bundles: the Advanced Plan at $30/month, which has 25 tools including Ahrefs, Semrush and Majestic, and the Ultimate Plan at $49/month with all 91 tools in the catalogue. The plans can also be paid yearly, where twelve months are charged as ten, the same arithmetic Ahrefs uses.
What you get for that
According to our Ahrefs tool page, the shared account runs on Ahrefs' Advanced tier (listed at $449/mo on ahrefs.com/pricing, checked October 2026), so you see 5 years of history, not Lite's six months. You sign in through your own GroupbuySEO dashboard login rather than a shared password. Daily fair-use limits are published before you pay: 1,000 requests and 10,000 export rows per day. If you need more, an add-on gives 1,000 extra daily Ahrefs requests for 30 days, at $15 on a standalone Ahrefs subscription or $10 on the Advanced or Ultimate plan.
What you don't get
Shared access is not an Ahrefs account in your name, so:
- You can't verify ownership of your own domains inside it, so the verified-site features behave differently.
- You can't use Ahrefs' API or MCP access from your own scripts.
- Your projects live in a workspace other subscribers also use, even though your login is separate.
- Ahrefs doesn't support shared access. Like every group-buy arrangement, it sits outside the vendor's own terms, and an account Ahrefs flags can be closed.
That last point is a real risk, and it's why we bill by the month and you can cancel any month. If a month of shared access goes wrong, you've lost a month's fee, not a year's. If you need a subscription Ahrefs stands behind, with your own projects, verified sites and API access, buy direct from Ahrefs. Our tool page says the same.
If Ahrefs isn't the only tool on your list
People shopping for SEO tools in November rarely want just one. Through us, these are each $5/month standalone, or included in larger plans:
Semrush: stronger on keyword and advertising data where Ahrefs leads on backlinks. Our Semrush vs Ahrefs comparison covers which to pick.
Majestic: a second backlink index, useful when you want to check one link database against another.
SE Ranking: rank tracking and audits at a smaller scale, included in Ultimate.
Why "Ahrefs Black Friday coupon" pages keep appearing
Search for an Ahrefs Black Friday deal and you'll find pages promising one. Most are one of four kinds.
The most common are affiliate pages. Ahrefs is an expensive product with high search interest, so a page that ranks for "Ahrefs Black Friday" can earn a referral fee even when the deal it describes is just the normal annual price. Some say clearly that no sale exists. Others put "up to 17% off" in a headline and let you assume it's seasonal.
Then there are coupon aggregators, sites that list codes for every brand and so list some for Ahrefs too. Ahrefs' help center (checked October 2026) says it doesn't offer promotional or discount codes and that codes found elsewhere "are not legitimate". There's no field to type one into anyway.
Speculative roundups say a deal "may be announced closer to the date". That isn't false, but three years of archived captures show none was.
The last kind is the account seller. Telegram channels and marketplace listings sell "lifetime" or "Black Friday" Ahrefs logins for a one-off payment. These are usually one login sold to a crowd, which tends not to last, and you have no one to contact when it stops working. A cheap price with no published limits and no monthly billing is the warning sign.
For a longer look at codes and the claims around them, see our Ahrefs coupons and promo codes guide.
A buyer's checklist for late November
If you're planning SEO tool spending for the holiday week, run through this before paying anyone, us included.
- Check ahrefs.com/pricing on the day. If Ahrefs ever runs a holiday offer, it will be on its own pricing page and in its own announcements. If the page still says "We never run discounts", there's no sale, whatever another site claims.
- Read the help center line again. The "does not run one-off discounts or seasonal specials" sentence is the quickest test. If Ahrefs removes it, that change is worth noticing.
- Decide between monthly and annual by how long you'll use the tool. Annual saves 16.7% if you use the tool for the full year and costs more than monthly if you stop before about ten months.
- Price the seats you actually need. A three-person team on Lite pays for two extra seats, which changes the comparison with every alternative.
- Confirm which plan you need before you compare prices, because Starter's 200 monthly credits and Lite's six months of history are hard limits.
- Try the free account first if it's your own site. Ahrefs Free may already do the job.
- Don't enter a code from a coupon site. Ahrefs says those codes aren't real, and a page that makes you click through to "reveal" one is usually setting an affiliate tag.
- If you choose shared access, check the provider. Ask which Ahrefs tier you're on, whether the daily limits are published, whether you get your own login, and whether you can pay monthly and cancel. Start monthly, even with a provider you trust.
- Keep a receipt and the terms. Screenshot the plan, the price and the limits at the moment you pay. That helps with any billing question, whoever you buy from.
Our take
Ahrefs' written policy makes this easier than most holiday shopping. There is almost certainly no Black Friday deal coming, and Ahrefs has said so in writing for at least three years. You don't need to set a reminder for 27 November.
That leaves four options. If you own the site and mostly care about its health, use Ahrefs Free. If you need the full product and will use it all year, buy direct and pay annually, which takes 16.7% off and gives you an account Ahrefs supports. If you need a light look now and then, Starter at $29/mo (ahrefs.com/pricing, checked October 2026) is the official budget option, as long as you accept its credit cap. If you need the Advanced-tier data on a small budget and can live with shared access and its limits, Ahrefs through GroupbuySEO is $25/month and you can cancel any month.
Frequently asked questions
Does Ahrefs have a Black Friday deal in 2026?
None has been announced as of our October 2026 check. Ahrefs' help center says it does not run seasonal specials including Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and its pricing page FAQ says "We never run discounts." Check ahrefs.com/pricing on 27 November if you want to be sure.
Did Ahrefs run Black Friday sales in previous years?
We found no evidence of one. Archived copies of the Ahrefs pricing page from the Black Friday weeks of 2023, 2024 and 2025 show regular prices and the same "We never run discounts" answer, with no holiday wording anywhere on the page.
What is the cheapest official way to pay for Ahrefs?
The free account costs nothing but only covers sites you verify. Starter is $29/mo and Lite is $129/mo, or $1,290 a year on annual billing (ahrefs.com/pricing, checked October 2026). Annual billing is the only discount Ahrefs offers, and it's available all year.
How much does Ahrefs annual billing save?
Annual prices are ten times the monthly price, so you pay for ten months and get twelve, a saving of 16.7%. On Lite that is $258 a year; on Advanced it is $898 (ahrefs.com/pricing, checked October 2026).
Are Ahrefs promo codes real?
No. Ahrefs' help center says it does not offer promotional or discount codes and that codes found on other websites are not legitimate (checked October 2026).
Does Ahrefs offer a free trial?
No. The help center says Ahrefs doesn't provide free trials and points to the free account instead (checked October 2026). The free account doesn't expire, but it only covers sites you can verify as yours.
How much is Ahrefs through GroupbuySEO?
$25/month standalone, or included in the Advanced Plan at $30/month and the Ultimate Plan at $49/month. It's shared access to an Advanced-tier account under published daily limits, billed monthly, with a yearly option on the plans. Current prices are on the pricing page.
