SE Ranking Review 2026: Pricing, Rank Tracking and a Cheaper Way In
SE Ranking is an all-in-one SEO platform: rank tracker, site audit, keyword research, backlink checker, competitor analysis and reporting, sold for less than Semrush or Ahrefs and built around a rank tracker that is its strongest module. This review is for freelancers, small agencies and in-house SEOs who are deciding whether SE Ranking is the right suite for them in 2026, and whether the direct subscription is worth paying for.
GroupbuySEO sells shared access to SE Ranking, so we have an interest in where you land. We have tried to keep the review straight anyway. The direct plans are good value for the right buyer, and shared access has limits, which we spell out below so you know them before paying.
Quick verdict
- SE Ranking suits people whose main job is tracking positions and reporting on them: agencies with client dashboards, freelancers who send a monthly PDF, in-house teams watching a few hundred keywords across several countries.
- Direct, the Core plan is €87.20 a month on annual billing and Growth is €188 a month, per seranking.com/pricing.html checked 3 Sep 2026. Through GroupbuySEO it is $5 a month standalone.
- The catch with shared access is that your projects and tracked keywords live in a shared workspace with a shared cap, and you cannot brand reports under your own agency name. If white-label reporting is the reason you want SE Ranking, buy it direct.
What SE Ranking is
SE Ranking sits in the same category as Semrush and Ahrefs: one subscription that covers most of what an SEO does in a week. The difference is emphasis. Ahrefs grew out of its link index, and Semrush keeps adding modules (advertising, social, content) until it covers most of marketing. SE Ranking started as a rank tracker, and the rest of the suite sits alongside that.
Rank tracker
The tracker records daily positions for your keyword list across Google, Bing, Yahoo and YouTube, per location and per device. You can add competitors to a project and see their positions next to yours in the same table. SERP features (featured snippets, local packs, video carousels and so on) are flagged against each keyword, so you know when a position 3 is really a position 3 and when it is sitting under two ads and a map.
Site audit
The audit crawls a site for technical and on-page issues, scores them and puts them in priority order. The part that matters in practice is the change history. You fix a batch of broken canonicals, re-run the crawl a week later and see whether the fix held or whether the CMS reverted it.
Keyword, competitor and backlink research
Keyword research gives volume, difficulty and intent for a query and its variants. Competitor research works by domain: enter a competitor and see their organic and paid keywords, the pages that earn them and where they overlap with yours.
The backlink tool shows who links to a domain, tracks new and lost links over time and manages a disavow file. The index is smaller than Ahrefs' and SE Ranking does not pretend otherwise, which is why many people who buy SE Ranking for tracking keep a separate backlink source on the side.
Reporting
Scheduled, white-label PDF and web reports. This is the feature that sells the most SE Ranking subscriptions. An agency sets up a report template once, attaches it to each client project, and it goes out on the first of the month under the agency's own logo without anyone touching it.
If you mostly need to track positions and report on them, SE Ranking does that better than the bigger suites for less money. If you mostly need link data or PPC research, it is the wrong tool.
What SE Ranking costs if you buy it directly
| Plan | Price | Who it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Core | €87.20/mo | On annual billing. Freelancers and small sites. |
| Growth | €188/mo | On annual billing. Agencies and larger sites. |
| Enterprise | Custom | Sales-quoted. |
Those figures come from seranking.com/pricing.html, checked 3 Sep 2026. The page showed them to us in euros; the vendor may quote you in your own currency depending on where you are.
Those are the annual-billing rates the pricing page shows by default. Switch the toggle to monthly billing and the same seranking.com/pricing.html page (checked 3 Sep 2026) prices each plan about 20% higher. Add-ons such as the Agency Pack, AI Search and API access are charged on top of the plan price.
How the direct price adds up
On the annual rate from seranking.com/pricing.html (checked 3 Sep 2026), Core is €87.20 a month paid twelve months up front, which is a real commitment for a freelancer who is not yet sure the tool will earn its keep. Growth at €188 a month is the tier most agencies end up on, because Core's project and keyword caps get tight once you have more than a handful of clients. Add the Agency Pack for white-label and client seats and the monthly figure moves again.
Against the competition it is still cheap. Semrush's entry SEO plan is $117.33 a month on annual billing per semrush.com/prices, checked 3 Sep 2026, and Ahrefs Lite is $129 a month per ahrefs.com/pricing, checked 2 Sep 2026. SE Ranking's Core plan undercuts both and includes a rank tracker that most people who have used all three would rate higher.
Features that actually matter
These are the four workflows we run in SE Ranking most weeks, and what each one looks like in practice.
Tracking a client's keywords by city and device
A local services client ranks differently in every city they serve, and differently again on a phone. In SE Ranking you create one project for the client, add the keyword list once, then add each target location and choose desktop and mobile. From that point the tracker pulls a position for every combination every day. The table view lets you filter to one city and one device, or compare all of them side by side, and the history chart shows movement for a single keyword over any date range.
Watch the cap. Each location and device you add to a project counts against your plan's tracked keyword limit, so a short keyword list across many cities fills a plan faster than you would expect. This matters on any SE Ranking plan and it matters more on shared access, where the cap is shared with other users.
Auditing a site and proving the fix landed
Run the audit, export the issues list, hand it to the developer. That part is the same in every tool. Where SE Ranking earns its place is the second crawl. Schedule it for a week later and the comparison view shows which issues disappeared, which ones are new and which ones came back. When a client asks whether the work they paid for did anything, you can show them a before and after with dates on it.
We use this on every site migration. Crawl before the switch, crawl the morning after, and the delta tells you which redirects were missed and which templates lost their meta descriptions.
Finding the keywords a competitor ranks for and you do not
Enter your domain and a competitor's in the competitor research tool and pull the keyword gap: queries where they rank and you do not, or where they rank on page one and you are on page three. Sort by volume, filter by difficulty, and you have a content plan for the quarter. Semrush and Ahrefs do the same thing, and SE Ranking's version is quick to run with an export clean enough to paste straight into a planning sheet.
The database is smaller than Semrush's, so for long-tail queries in smaller markets you may find gaps in the data. For English-language commercial queries it holds up.
Sending a monthly report without touching it
Build a report template with the sections a client cares about, usually position changes, a traffic estimate, the audit score and a note. Attach it to the project, set a send date, and it goes out as a PDF or a shareable web link. On a direct Growth plan with the Agency Pack the report carries your logo and domain. On a Core plan, and on shared access, it carries SE Ranking's branding. A freelancer whose client does not care about branding can live with that. An agency cannot, and it is the single biggest reason to pay for the direct subscription.
Who should buy it (and who should not)
Buy it if
- Rank tracking is the core of what you sell. Daily positions, per location, per device, with competitors alongside, is what SE Ranking was built for.
- You send scheduled reports to clients and want them out of your hands. The reporting module is the reason agencies stay on the platform.
- You are paying for Semrush or Ahrefs and using a fraction of it. If you open Semrush once a week to check positions and run an audit, SE Ranking does those two things for less.
- You manage several small sites rather than one large one. The project model suits a portfolio.
Skip it if
- Backlinks are your main workflow. The index is smaller than Ahrefs' and the link tools are adequate. People who do outreach for a living will want Ahrefs, and through GroupbuySEO that is $25 a month standalone.
- You need PPC research, social scheduling or the content marketing modules that Semrush bundles. SE Ranking is an SEO tool and does not try to be a marketing platform.
- You only need positions for a single site with a short keyword list. A lighter tool will do, and Mangools' SERPWatcher is one option.
- You need white-label reports and are considering shared access. Shared access does not include them, so buy direct.
What you get through GroupbuySEO
SE Ranking is $5 a month standalone through GroupbuySEO's SE Ranking page. It is also included in the Ultimate Plan at $49 a month, which covers 91 tools including Ahrefs, Semrush, Claude, ChatGPT and Canva. It is not in the Essential, Boost, Advanced or Super Ecom plans, so if SE Ranking is the tool you want, it is either the $5 standalone or the Ultimate Plan. The full list is on the pricing page.
You get your own login. Each user is isolated from the others, and there is a support channel when something breaks. A resold password from a Telegram group gives you neither, and those accounts tend to get banned within the week.
What shared access does not include
This is shared access to a paid SE Ranking account, not your own subscription. Two consequences follow from that, and you should know both before paying.
First, projects and tracked keywords live in a shared workspace with a shared cap. You are not the only person adding keywords, so the limit you hit is the account's limit. Heavy trackers who need thousands of keywords across many locations will run into it.
Second, white-label reporting under your own brand is not part of shared access. Reports go out with SE Ranking's branding. If your clients expect your logo on the PDF, shared access is the wrong purchase and the direct Growth plan with the Agency Pack is the right one.
What you do get is the rank tracker, the audit, the keyword and competitor research and the backlink tools, working as they do on the direct plan. For a freelancer who tracks a couple of hundred keywords and does their own reporting, that covers the job. For a solo consultant learning the tool before committing to €87.20 a month on annual billing (seranking.com/pricing.html, checked 3 Sep 2026), it is a cheap way to find out whether the tool fits.
SE Ranking alternatives
| Tool | Direct price | Through GroupbuySEO |
|---|---|---|
Semrush | From $117.33/mo on annual billing (semrush.com/prices, checked 3 Sep 2026) | $5/mo standalone |
Ahrefs | Lite from $129/mo (ahrefs.com/pricing, checked 2 Sep 2026) | $25/mo standalone |
Mangools | Basic from €37.70/mo on annual billing (mangools.com/plans-and-pricing, checked 3 Sep 2026) | $5/mo standalone |
Semrush
Semrush is the wider platform: keyword database, PPC data, content tools, and a rank tracker and audit that are both competent. Where it loses to SE Ranking is price and focus. The entry SEO plan is $117.33 a month on annual billing per semrush.com/prices, checked 3 Sep 2026, and much of what you pay for is modules an SEO-only shop never opens. Its rank tracker works, though the position history and location handling are less pleasant to use than SE Ranking's. Pick Semrush if you need PPC or content marketing data alongside SEO. Through GroupbuySEO it is $5 a month standalone, and it also sits in the Essential Plan at $10 a month with 5 tools, so the two tools together come cheap.
Ahrefs
Ahrefs is the tool for links. Its index is the one people trust, and Site Explorer is where you go when a client asks who links to a competitor. Rank tracking is the part of the suite fewest people buy it for, and SE Ranking's tracker gives you more control over locations and devices. Ahrefs also never discounts, per its own pricing page at ahrefs.com/pricing checked 2 Sep 2026, so the Lite plan at $129 a month is what you pay. Through GroupbuySEO Ahrefs is $25 a month standalone, the most expensive standalone in the catalogue for the same reason it is the most expensive of these tools direct. We wrote a longer piece on the best Ahrefs alternatives in 2026 if that is the decision you are weighing.
Mangools
Mangools is the lightweight option: KWFinder for keywords, SERPWatcher for tracking, LinkMiner for backlinks, each a small focused app. It is easier to learn than SE Ranking and the Basic plan is €37.70 a month on annual billing per mangools.com/plans-and-pricing, checked 3 Sep 2026. The tracker is good enough for one or two sites with short keyword lists. It falls behind SE Ranking once you need many locations, scheduled client reports or a site crawl with change history. Through GroupbuySEO it is $5 a month standalone, and there is a separate Mangools group buy write-up on the blog.
How to buy SE Ranking through GroupbuySEO
- Open the SE Ranking tool page and choose either the $5 a month standalone or the Ultimate Plan at $49 a month with 91 tools. If SE Ranking is the only tool you want, take the standalone. If you also want Ahrefs, Semrush or the AI tools, compare the standalone prices against the Ultimate Plan on the pricing page before choosing.
- Create an account and pay. The plan activates on the account you signed up with, and the order and payment status show in your dashboard.
- Log in to the dashboard and open SE Ranking from your tool list. Your login is your own, so bookmark it and do not share it. If anything fails to load, support is reachable from the dashboard.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a pirated or patched copy of SE Ranking?
No. It is a genuine paid SE Ranking account, shared across users under fair-use limits. Nothing is patched, modified or pirated. You use the real seranking.com application with a login that GroupbuySEO manages.
What happens if I hit the daily limit?
The limit resets on a daily cycle, so you wait for the next window. If you hit it regularly, you are a heavy user and should look at the Ultimate Plan or an add-on for a higher cap, or consider whether a direct Core plan at €87.20 a month on annual billing (seranking.com/pricing.html, checked 3 Sep 2026) is the better fit.
How is this different from buying an SE Ranking account on Telegram?
Those are usually one login resold to hundreds of people. The vendor detects it and bans the account, often within days, and you lose access with no one to ask. GroupbuySEO runs a managed account with per-user isolation and a support channel that answers when something breaks.
Can I use white-label reports through shared access?
No. White-label reporting under your own brand is not part of shared access. Reports carry SE Ranking's branding. If your clients need your logo on the PDF, buy the direct Growth plan with the Agency Pack from seranking.com.
Do my projects and keywords stay private?
Your login is your own and other users cannot see your dashboard. The projects and tracked keywords do count against a cap that is shared across the account, though, so the limit you see is the account's limit and it can move depending on what other users have added.
Does SE Ranking have a trial or a no-cost tier?
SE Ranking offers a limited trial, but the tracker limits, audit depth and reporting that people pay for sit behind the paid plans. That paid tier is what shared access gives you at $5 a month.
Which GroupbuySEO plan includes SE Ranking?
Only the Ultimate Plan at $49 a month with 91 tools, or the $5 a month standalone. It is not in the Essential, Boost, Advanced or Super Ecom plans, so check the pricing page before assuming a cheaper bundle has it.
Do you offer a refund?
See the refund policy on the pricing page and read it before paying, on our site or anyone else's. Shared-access purchases have conditions that a direct subscription does not, and you should know them going in.
